Hi! My name is Kiara — Co-Founder of Inmate Receptionist.
When I was 21, I fell in love with a prisoner. He was convicted of manslaughter and sentenced to 200 months at 23 years old. By the time we met, he still had over 12 years left on his sentence. One of the things I loved most about him was his ambition despite his circumstances. As a romantic, he wanted to be able to text me while I was at work and leave cute little voice messages to let me know he was thinking about me. As a visionary, he wanted the ability to accomplish things at his own pace without having to use up our precious phone time telling me what he needed done.

That’s why we invented Amiri — the AI agent that can send & receive texts, voice messages, and e-mails. Each user gets their own individual phone number and e-mail address that people on the outside can contact. Now inmates will be able to call up Amiri anytime and tell him who to text or e-mail, and can send voice messages in real time. Amiri will also read out or play any new messages they may have.
